The nursery is sited within the grounds of Nightingale House, a care home for older people which has again been awarded the rating of Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following their inspection at the end of 2022.
Both generations interact daily to develop a deeper understanding and respect for each other.
Our qualification is accredited by CACHE and designed to support those who are interested in the concept of intergenerational work.
Judith Ish-Horowicz MBE
Judith is our ambassador to Apples and Honey Nightingale Education Training Centre and co-founder and intergenerational lead of Apples and Honey Nightingale CIC (Intergenerational Nursery).
A hugely influential figure within the growing intergenerational community, she received an MBE for services to Early Years and is a consultant in intergenerational work both nationally and internationally.
Quality and Systems Lead
Emma worked in early years and primary education for twenty years before moving to secondary and post 16 education both within the UK and internationally. She has taught health and social care and
childcare courses up to foundation degree and is one of the tutors on our courses.
Emma is a qualified assessor, internal verifier and an external quality assurer. Emma has an MA in Education
Teaching and Learning Lead
Jo has worked as head of faculty in secondary education and in post 16 education as lead teacher of health and social care for eighteen years and is one of the tutors on our courses.
She has completed the Hampshire Secondary Senior Leadership Programme and holds the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCO)
Jo is a qualified assessor and internal verifier.
Jo has an MA in Education.
Following a successful career in early years through to secondary education Di took an opportunity to work in an international school in the Middle East before returning to lead the health and social care department at a successful post 16 college.
Di has a BSc (Open) in Welfare and Childhood Studies and is experienced in supporting intergenerational projects.
