New Announcement!

Summer School 22 - 26 July 2024

We are excited to announce that we are offering a week of Summer School in the Summer of 2024

You will enjoy a one week immersive training course, as part of a small group, at Apples Honey Nightingale Nursery and the Nightingale Care Home.

You will be offered complementary board, lodgings and food within the Care Home and a full week of teaching and IG experiences.

During the evenings there will be opportunities to enjoy concerts and an evening out in London.

At the end of the week you will have experienced all of the teaching needed to gain your NCFE accredited Diploma in Intergenerational Care and Education. You will need to ensure that you then complete your portfolio of evidence and a Longitudinal study within four months of the summer school.

Please enrol here.

Now into the third week of this prestigious eight week course, we warmly welcome our first cohort of learners. The individuals choosing to participate include care professionals, child care practitioners, a gerontologist, charity workers within the community, leader of activities for older people, a marketing manager and Intergenerational development officers. Each individual is developing and extending their knowledge and experience of intergenerational practice as we learn with and from one another.

Part of the last session was spent considering the role of the stakeholders involved in intergenerational practice, including staff, relatives, volunteers and the participants themselves.

Our accomplished team Emma, Jo and Di were on hand to lead and support the learners and we were honoured to welcome AHN Education and Training’s ambassador, Judith Ish-Horowicz MBE who made a guest appearance taking part in the interactive activities which was a delight to see.

Visit our Intergenerational Qualifications page to see the range of courses we offer. With two Parliamentary inquiries being undertaken into the benefits of intergenerational practice, ensure to join the many professionals in gaining this recognised IG qualification.
